The 2026 Plan
New years resolutions at Flat Lit
This is the year of shipping game - not just game development.
I’ve just ‘setup’ Flat Lit Studios to help do that.
Why?
- Over the last couple of years, I’ve been working of couple of game ideas, but none of them seemed they’d be successful.
- Ideas stayed in that prototype phase, which isn’t bad, but you get stuck.
- As developer is easy to focus on one aspect rather than the game.
So, what is the plan?
- Let’s get into the rhythm of actually shipping through game jams.
- Focus on finding and learning some key assets tools that work with my process.
- Stick to an engine, Godot, which focus
- Vary art styles, game type, mechanics, etc to get a really broad set of experience.
The end goal of 2026 is to have 9 or 10 jams done.
